This page sets out what personal information the Ethiopian Organization for Cancer Prevention and Research (CPR – Ethiopia) collects through this website, what it is used for, where it is held, who sees it, and how to ask for it to be removed. Any question about it goes to cancer.prev.ethio@gmail.com.

Information you send through a form

We are adding a contact form and a membership form. Between them they ask for your name, email address, telephone number, city or region, institution, position, sector, qualification, the areas of our work you are interested in, and your reasons for getting in touch or applying.

What it is used for. Contact details are used to answer your message. Membership details are used to consider your application and to reach you about our work.

Where it is held. Form submissions are stored in the website’s WordPress system, using the Flamingo plugin, and a copy is sent to us by email.

Who sees it. Our staff who answer correspondence and handle membership.

Removing it. Email cancer.prev.ethio@gmail.com and ask for your details to be deleted, and the stored entry and the emailed copy are removed. You can ask at any time, and you do not have to give a reason. The same address is where you ask what is held about you or have it corrected.

Email and telephone

Anything written to the email address or said on the telephone reaches us as an ordinary message, and is handled by the same people on the same basis as a form. Before sending personal information about another person, it is worth asking first what will be done with it.

Test results, scans and pathology reports belong with the health worker seeing you, and with you — please keep them out of anything you send here.

Research participants

Data collected from people taking part in a research study is a separate matter with its own consent process, run by the study rather than by this website. The governance page sets out the committee that reviews research projects.

Our pages link out to other organisations’ websites — WHO, IARC and similar. Those are run by those organisations under their own terms, and what they collect is a matter for them.

Raising something

A question or a complaint about how information has been handled goes to cancer.prev.ethio@gmail.com, which is also on the contact page. The accountability page sets out how we are run and what we publish about ourselves.

When this page changes

As our data protection policy is adopted and the technical detail behind the site is settled, this page will carry them and will say what it now covers that it did not before.
