Graduated in Medicine from the University of Gondar and worked as a Lecturer in the Department of Gynaecology and Obstetrics there. Holds a PhD in Medicine and Public Health from the University of Newcastle, Australia.
Research focus is cancer prevention, smoking cessation, and the health of underserved communities. Involved in cervical cancer screening and management in Ethiopia.
